The marimekko head office and printing factory is located some distance from the Helsinki centre.

Here is also a large factory store with a large selection of items. Guntar and I were hoping to find some jokapoika shirts, however there were only about three shirts in the whole store. Fortunately Guntar found one in a light blue stripe as well as a blue and white T shirt. There was nothing in my size. That was also the situation in two more marimekko stores in downtown Helsinki, very disappointing.

The layout and displays were not of the high quality of design that represents marimekko. They were cluttered and messy and did not really show the merchandise in the best light. Perhaps it was a deliberate attempt to create a warehouse feeling?
