I was approached by a church committee to help them with the design of the interiors for a church that they were planning. Up to this point, not much thought had been given to the interior finishes and furnishings. There was a large central wall, for which I suggested a plaster cross in relief. For the organ pipes, which they wanted concealed, I designed three wood, wall hung cabinets. The main pulpit and other altar stands and lecterns were custom designed.
I suggested to the committee that it might be interesting to consider creating a sculpture in front of the church on a small piece of land facing a major street. They agreed and i invited sculptor Ron Baird to make a proposal. The committee liked it and Ron Baird did an excellent job as usual.
