I was asked to do a whole floor of offices for a client of mine. This was a time when we had highly skilled European imigrant craftsmen in Toronto and in many cases it was possible to get custom furniture made for far less than the prices charged by large manufacturers, who had to pay for a sales force, cataloguing, advertising and showrooms. So I designed some of the furniture and was able to incorporate my three legged chair.
